Here’s my situation:
I manage a small Win2k server network (< 10 PCs) for my company, and would love be able to give my staff access to their files on the server from their homes. Ideally, I could configure this with minimal setup on their home computers, like through their browsers. I have in my mind IE's FTP interface, although I've been warned that FTP is not secure because of plaintext logins, and that I can't have individual folder access anyway if my server is acting as the nameserver (which it is, it seems). I have built an administrative area of our website using PHP and MySQL which is accessible only to the staff, so in a perfect world they would log in to this administrative area, and from there be able to browse, read & write their files from the server. I do have a static IP, and a hardware firewall. Is this possible to do with the equipment I have? If not, what would I need to make it happen? Where can I look for advice on setting this up? Thanks, Daniel
