Basically when i am at work remote registry works fine if i want to connect/edit a registry of down-level client(98 box) from a win2k machine – as per normal.
But when i do remote admin, usually TS over vpn to one of DC’s, (or just vpn by itself)I cannot connect to client registry’s – weird -yeah and theres no problems connecting to w98 clients drives/shares or printers – but no registry access.
-network is win2k domain, no problems with any of the 2k clients(nor there should be !)
-NTLMis set to v2 for all machines – 2k/98
-remote registry service is installed on 98 clients, user level security, default is domain admins set access 98 box as per usual etc.
I suspect i may have to tweak the 9x registrys somewhere, as i guess itsa secure pipe problem ?
