Remote Web Workplace & XP Home

By Aussie Roger ·
My client wants to use RWW to access their intranet from home and it just doesn't seem to work when the client PC has XP Home. All other XP Pro and W2K clients can access everthing OK. The XP Home machine (the only one in the inventory!) gets an error which says that " . . . ActiveX Control cannot run . . Check the security settings of your browser . . " What is going on?? All browsers are IE 6.0 and security is identical!

You'll most likely need to install additional Windows Components.

Grab the XP Home CD and open the Control Panel the Add/Remove Programs and when that window opens on the left hand side click on Add Remove Windows Components.

You'll most likely need to install the Networking components and maybe even the Remote Service components as these most likely will not be installed.
