I have a user that has data in a USB Hard drive and he has been trying to use the hard drive to work in a laptop.
The Operating system is W2K Pro SP2. The OS recognizes the Hard Disk but a chkdsk happens in that drive when the machine is rebooted. There is a lot of files that get moved to *.chk for no apparent reason.
What may be the reason of the removable hard disk being checked every so often???
How can I offer this user stability on the use of the removable Hard disk drive?
He has important information in it and would like to keep it… in the removable HDD since he travels quite a lot.
