Remove apls in the systray @ startup

By Gary D ·
I have about a half dozen of unnecessary applications which load at startup in the systray. I am running NT4 service pack5. The aplications are not being called from the Profiles/Startup directory. I believe they might be called from a registry entry. For example I have Realplayer StartCenter being loaded and I can not figure out where it is being called. That is just one Apl I wish to remove.

Any ideas?

Following the above poster, also check the /runonce key.

For RealPlayer, you should be able to double-click the icon in the systray, go to the options menu and choose how you want it to run. Among other things there is the option to run on startup.

For other apps in your systray there may also be options within the app itself to enable/disable on startup.

Hope that helps,
