Remove Lingering Object Error

By zulkipar ·
I've a problem to remove a lingering object at our forest.Basically, we run an enterprise environment. 1 of our domain has 1 lingering object. The server run Win2k.Since the place is far, we have to do it remotely. The root server is running win2k3. The object was detected at root server after run the ldp tool. The object appear at GAL and can't be seen at the domain server. FYI, I'm unable to remove the object using ldp or repadmin tool at the domain server and root server
since error occurred after run the tool.I'm using the method and tool as described in Microsoft TechNet and doesn't seem to work. Thanks

You will need to use ADSI edit to remove this object, if it is not a domain controller.

What is the object in question?

And has it been tombstoned sometime in the past and attempted to be reintroduced to the forest?

What functional level is the root of the forest and the domains?

The object was located at tzdmad1 after using the ldp tool. The problem has caused the user can't received email.I managed to get the objectGUIID and distinguish name of the lingering object. The problem is I can't remove the object either at local site remotely or at our root server. An error occurred after run the command. The tool I'm using is ldp and repadmin. Hope this will helps.
