How do I delete a previous Windows installation? I am currently running XP, and 98 is still taking up space on my HD. Please help

Was XP installed on the same Partition. If it was it would have asked you if you wanted to keep your old windows when you installed. Check in Add Remove Programs to see if it can be removed from there.

Are you dual booting?

This all depends on what it is you have done here

If you have Upgraded from 98 to XP you should have chosen to delete any unused files then but it is probably still possible to delete the remaining 98 Files.

Depending on what Partition Type you have and HDD Size it may prove much more effective to convert the Partition from FAT32 to NTFS as NTFS Partitions don't suffer the Slack Space that the FAT32 Partitions do. That alone would free up a lot of space on your HDD.

Just go into the Help Files and look under Convert to NTFS Partition.

IF you are dual Booting both 98 and XP it would be easier to Backup all of your Data and then wipe the HDD with something like Boot & Nuke

Then do a Fresh Clean Install of XP.
