Remove Update Patch Directories

By jgreer ·
Each time we apply critical updates to our workstations it creates an uninstall directory and listing in Windows NT 4.0

Recently our workstations have started running low on memory and it appears to be related to these directories that are created after each updated is applied. If I uninstall these from remove programs will the updates stay in place?

First of all, the uninstall directories don't take up memory, only disk space, so doing anything with them may not help your problem.

Anyway, since it's unlikely you'll want to roll back your system to remove the critical patches, what you want to do is just delete the uninstall directories. You don't want to uninstall anything. It's safe to delete them.
