When you remove AD from a computer, running dcpromo command, at the final stage you are asked to insert a password for the administrator account. You have two ways in your situation: - either you did not typed any password, so you log on the server with no password - or you typed the password but you forget it - and you should use a bootdisk to reset the password. Tell me what your situation is and I'll help you.
for answer 2: As I remember, when you demote a DC, you are no longer member server or anything like that. You are just a stand-alone server, so you NEED the local administrator password to get in.
Assuming the server is still a member server of a local domain with other DCs around, you should still be able to log on using the domain administrator account and password. Just be sure you have selected to log on to the domain and not the local server. If it is not a member of a domain, then you must have the local administrator password to log on. I guess the crux of the issue is. . .what user ID and password are you trying to use to get in?
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
