removing a computer from a domain does not remove object from AD

By hectorb911 ·
I was under the impression that removing a computer from a domain deletes the computer object fom active directory.
I find that computer objects are remaining in active directory and are not moved to hidden deleted objects folder and tombstoned unless I use ADUC.

Is this normal behavior or is there possibly something amiss in my AD infrastructure?

It is normal

If you replicate the AD with the domain controller, in the AD it will show a red X on the computer name and that means the machine has been removed from the network

does it ever?

Thanks R.S.,
Does it ever get removed, i.e. moved to deleted items and tombstoned or does that have to be done via ADUC or programmatically?
