Removing CPU in multiprocessor Win2000

I would like to remove a processor from a dual-processor configured Windows 2000 Server (Compaq ML350). Is there any negative impact upon the system? Do I need to change any configurations on the server to account for the missing CPU or does Win2K autodetect it?
