I currently have a Win 2000 server configured with DCHP server running, a Dell Powerconnect 2024 switch a Watchguard Firebox 500 and VoIP operating across 384 of a T1 in place in a small business network. I am expanding to the use of the full T1 and removing all above except for the server and phone system. Due to the needs of VPN tunneling I am replacing with a Linksys VPN router which has an SPI firewall and a Linksys smart switch to support QoS for the VoIP system. I would like to use the DHCP services in the router and remove DHCP from the 2000 server. Can someone tell me the best way of doing so and if there are any adverse effects that I might not be aware of?
