Are the folders empty?
Did you have Norton Anti-Virus on the system?
Some other Anti-Virus that has been removed?
Can you view the properties of the folders?

Sounds like they may be part of anti-virus program that has not been removed properly.

Try removing them from the command line. In W2K go from Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.

Alt+Enter makes for full screen format.
