Removing fr msconfig's Startup tab list

By brifd1 ·
msconfig's Startup tab list has items no longer on my system (Win 98 SE). How do I eradicate these lines from the list...Power Toys won't install for ? reason. The registry was another thought.

Go to; www.easydesksoftware.com ,get a trial issue of Perfect Companion, download and install it, then use the start-up list editor to shut off all unnecessary items in the start up list in msconfig...I also use the following link to determine if the program is necessary to be in the start up folder as a guide. The temp issue will give you 7 days, but this reg. editor is great and I purchased it myself. I'd also take a files snapshot before and after as the tool allows this action too, helps in an undo if you mistakenly shut off something unintentionally.

Good Luck!

The tool will also clean the registry items. Be careful w/ the full registry cleaner, but if used correctly it's a great tool. Great reading @ the site if you have the time and wish to learn registry cleaning.

Interesting program. It looks like one first has to have the checkmark "on" in order to remove it from the list, but that's okay.
