    Removing IE corner bitmap

    by mc_user ·

Someone recently upgraded their browser to IE 5.5 on thier W98 PC from a handout CD. That was ok, but the bitmap in the upper righthand corner is now Earthlink’s and the title bar at the top of the screen now says “Internet Explorer provided by Earthlink, Inc.”

How do I get rid of these?

You can change the title bar by running regedit and navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

There’s a key called Window Title which you can change.

I’m not sure about the bitamp.

The words are easy to change in the registry.
      The logo’s harder.
It?s done using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit.
