Removing TCPIP from Windows 2000 Server

by mcrowley . Updated 25 years, 7 months ago

I’m running Pervasive.SQL 2000 on a Windows 2000 Server which had been running well for a while. All of a sudden, I am unable to connect to the Pervasive.SQL engine, and all arrows point to TCP/IP as the culprit. So, they suggest I uninstall and reinstall TCP/IP. A simple request, right??? Wrong. I can uncheck TCP/IP from the list of protocols I’m using, but I cannot Uninstall the protocol from the machine. The button for Uninstall is greyed out. I have removed DHCP, DNS, WINS, SNMP, and IIS, all of which were running on the machine. I then rebooted, and still cannot completely remove TCP/IP.

I’m running Active Directory on this server in mixed mode.

I have attempted installing IPX in its place, and that had no effect.

Isthis a problem because I am running ADS??? Can I not remove TCP/IP from a Primary Domain Controller??? Or am I missing another service which has to be uninstalled???

Any help would be appreciated.
