Removing Widows Messenger from Install

I am trying to find a method of either removing or disabling the Windows Messenger when installing XP. I have no intention of using WM and would like to keep it from being installed in the first place. I have already poured through the installation options and unattended install options, TechNet and others with no luck. I’m hoping someone has found a hack for this.
