Renaming admin account effects on applic

I renamed the administrator account of our domain and disabled the the administrator account. when i log on the server using the renamed account it “says incorrect password or unknown password for \\server name\application” You last connected to this computer as Server name\administrator. When i put in a password it comes bck saying incorrect password or user name. When i delet it and log in I can not even open the backup exec and other application folders. Any idea how to solve this????

When you installed the application(s) you probably gave the administrator account for the service. Check under services to see what account the application is using.

It definitely sounds like some of your services are linked to the old administrator account. Go into Services and and check the ones that are listed as automatic but are not started. Change the ones that have the old Administrator account as its security account.

Also, it sounds like you must have, but did you give the new account permission to log on locally?
