Repair Install

I know there's a way to run a repair install on my XP Home Edition OS, but, I don't know the procedure to access the screens, etc to run the repair install, can somebody help me???

Turn off your computer,put the xp cd in the cdrom,reboot the cd will tell you what to do.

Let the cd boot the coumputer to the install schreen,then pick the repair install.

If that dose not work reboot and at post hit del key to go to the BIOS and set your first boot to cdrom,if that failes let it boot to windows then click the start button click Run type in / click ok this will start the cdrom.

No, I did that but that doesn't get me to the repair install screen; when the computer is rebooting, do I need to hit a specific key like F1 or F2 or F8 or something? I tried all those keys & they don't get me to what I'm looking for either. Any suggestions?
