repairing a corrupt profile in XPpro

We’ve determined by trying a different profile when looging on, that we have an issue with a particular profile which is evidentually corrupt. Is there a step by step procedure document somewhere to tell me how to either fix the profile or create a new one that will still include all links, shortcuts, etc.?

If not, I am open to suggestions on how to go about properly copying some of the profile and hopefully not include the corrupted portion?
