I have received many standard answers to this question and have yet to successfully make it work.
Here’s the problem:
After NT Fdisk to fat 16, format, then fdisk to fat32 and format. Seems to work fine. I install Windows 95 or 98 and it works great for about a month. All of a sudden the drive appears to die, I run MBR32 to recover And I get an NTFS recovery rather than a Fat32 and all data is lost. This has happened on 5 drives that I had raided in NT.
Only thing I haven’t tried is a lowlevel format. These are 420mb and 3.2gig drives and I don’t have the software to low level format them with.
