I am working on a Dell Dimension 2350 with a recently replaced hard drive for a friend of mine. The problem I am having is that it reapeatedly shuts off 5-10 minutes after being powered on. It will shut off whether I boot into Windows or into BIOS or even if I attempt a fresh install of Windows before it gets to the GUI phase. I have pulled out and tested the power supply, and the hard drive. Both work fine in another test machine that I have. I have tried replacing the system battery, but no luck. If anyone knows of anything else I could try, it would be appreciated. If all else, I’m at the point where I’m thinking the motherboard is the problem.
