Replace one file on multiple clents?

By KillRaven ·
Is it possible to replace one file on multiple win2k clients at the same time utilizing Active Directory?. I am trying to avoid logging of the users one at a time and logging on to replace on file that needs to be updated. As you all know, it's time consuming. Could anyone offer some sudgestions.

thanks.....Joel

Depends on the file you are talking about...

Is this a MS update?
System file?
File you just want to push out?

Let us know and we can help you...

The easiest way would be to do a logon/startup script depending if you want to the machines to be updated at next logon or turnon.

The settings for this are in Group Policy all you need to do is create and test a batch file to do the copy.

Thanks for the quick response. But how would we create the batch file and add a response when windows coms back and asks if we want to replace the file?. That is the part that we cannot figure out.
