I have a SQL7 server which is part of a replication and Backup plan. The problem i am having is that the backup file that this DB is creating is growing at a huge rate(15-30MB/day, where its normal growth is 300-800k/day). I have tried truncating the transaction logs, shrinking the DB, among other things. I have run out of ideas as to what has caused this growth and how to correct it. Any help or advice as to stopping the growth would be welcome. The backup i do is part of a maintenace plan, andeach nights backup needs to be dated, unlike creating threw the backup manager where you can tell the data to overwrite and not apend it to the backup, also the backup manager doesn’t allow you to date the backups unless you have some sort of tape device..which i don’t. I’m working under alot of constraints so I don’t have much lea way on this…..PLEASE HELP.
