Reply Addresses in Exchange

By tgleason ·
This might be an easy one for you guys and I think I already know the answer, but it is worth a shot. I am running Exchange 5.5 on Nt 4.0. I have 4 email domains setup and receiving on the server successfully. Some employees are receiving email at all 4 domain addresses. Is there a way for exchange to reply by the same domain address it was sent to instead of replying by the default domain address (which could have been another domain address)? Other options are welcome.

No, you can only change the reply address using the admin program.

The only way I can think of would be very clumsy - each user would have to have a separate mailbox for each different SMTP default email address.

If you use a Pop3 client to get your e-mail you can set your reply-to address as anything you want. That's the only user-modifiable way I can think of. Some Pop clients may be able to let you manage several addresses the way you want.

on the users protocol section, enable pop3

then get the users to use Outlook Express, or enable Outlook for internet email, then you can change the reply address as often as you want.
