    Request time out

    Recently I set up a small office network which is having 10 computers with a “SuperCom EP-824DX” 24 ports swicth.I tested the network wires with a Lan Cabel Tester.All cabels ok.But the problem is when I ping after 2 or 3 replies there were a request time outs, then once a again replies. What could be the problem

      Something similar happened to me, you should shut all the computers down, then reset the switch and turn the computers on one by one. Then ping the computers as you are turning them on. If that does not fix the problem you should see if your switch is working properly.

      Other problem can be the lenght of cables (max. 100m) or a bad NIC card. I had a 3Com NIC card which didn’t work with a 65m cable and an old ISA card worked.

      Check to make sure that ALL the NICs are set to same speed 10Mb, 100Mb or to AUTO)
