Required Password on Win98

You have to crerate users in User control panel and set password to each user.

You can try the creation of users, however if you are attempting to restrict access to the system I would setup a BIOS password. The only way around a BIOS password is to clear the BIOS by removing the battery inside the case.

The ONLY way to force a password in W98 is with a 3rd party add-on such as Boot Guard.

The password settings in W98 can be used to limit network connections. But CANNOT keep someone out of the OS.
