According to the IBM website, the only way to clear a BIOS password is to take the laptop (along with proof of ownership) to an authorized IBM reseller or repair facility and have a technician do it.

This is process is common with almost all current laptop vendors because of the ease and frequency with which laptops are stolen.

It should be obvious why information like this should not be given out in this type of forum.

One of the reasons I frequent this site is that most of the people that post here will not support any illegal activity. I'm sure there's others out there that know exactly how to reset the password(s), But I doubt if you'll get that info here.

IBM laptops probably provide the best password protection of all OEMs. There is multiple levels of security and if all the levels have been enabled thesystem is pretty much tamper proof.

As mentioned go to an authorized dealer with proof of purchase. What's most important is that attempting to reset the password incorrectly will permanently damage to the motherboard.

Go to IBM's support page and look up yout model, they'll have instructions on what you need for proof of purchase and a list of local vendors. You'll have to pay but it's better than having an unusable laptop or having it damaged by someone that doesn't know what they're doing.
