resize window in explorer

Win ME Explorer 5.5 The view within the explorer window is too large. Too see the entire horizontal page I have to scroll left and right. I,m sure this is an easy fix , I just can't figure it out!

When you say that the explorer window is too large do you mean that:
1) the window borders are off the screen or
2) the window is maximized and you cannot see an entire page without scrolling?

If 1, then you can resize the borders by dragging them to where you want them (you might have to drag the window around to do this).

If 2, then you can change your screen resolution to a greater size (but everything will be smaller on the screen). Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and choose Properties. Go to the Settings tab (should be last tab on right side). Look at the Screen Area value (right side toward the bottom). If it is 640X480 slide the little bar to the left. Depending on your display adapter you should see values of 640x480, 600x800 and 1024x768 (possible more). Choose 1024x768 and click OK. If you get a message asking if you want to apply the settings without restarting say yes.
Find a setting that is comfortable for your eyes.

You can change this setting any time. Try various settings and see what you like.

Enjoy,
