Resizing Internet Explorer 6.0 Web page

By ddvorpahl ·
How can I set the resize on IE6 to be able to use the restore down block to shrink my IE6 webpages? All other programs open just fine & can be reduced. Also when I press the restore down block my webpage disappears. I have to always go to the quick launch bar and maximize the web pages to see them. Please help.

Quite a simple solution to this one actually, well the first part anyway.

Resize the window by clicking the maximise/minimize button in the top right hand corner as i am sure you have been doing.
In the restore up position manually drag the internet explorer window to the size that you want it to be, say one quarter of you monitors size. Then close and open internet Explorer. Now when you click minimise/maximise it will go from full browser viewing in maximise or restore up option to whatever size you had preset your drag opetions to when you click minimise....viola..

The second part where you say your page dissapears i am not sure what is going on here..If this continues to happen make sure your PC has all latest Internet Explorer service packs installed from the Windows update site.

RISC12461,

Sorry I didn't explain this better, but when I minimize or restore down, the page disappears. I can't change the size of the screen without making it disappear. I have all the latest service packs, but I have not installed Win XP SP2. I don't believe Service Pack 2 will correct the problem. Is there a possibility this is a registry problem?

there really isnt a good explanation out there enough for me to submit it. but i would have to say to uninstall your browser, and reinstall it. update as much as possible. and even consider the use of a better browser such as mozilla firefox

Technolique, I appreciate your answer, however I don't want another browser & when I have attemped removing & reinstalling IE6, in the past, I have had no success. Hope someone else has an idea.
