When adding users with the ADDUSERS.EXE utility from the 2000 Resource kit to a mixed-mode Active Directory, the users Name in the AD MMC (AD Users and Computers/domainname/Users) displays the username you specified in the text file used by ADDUSERS.EXE and not the user’s display name. Even if you change it, you cannot change this name. You can add the display name as another column, but you cannot change it. If you manually enter the user name in the new/user utility within the MMC, it takes the name you type.
Does anyone know how you can change this name once you have entered it? I don’t think you can, but it’s worth the shot.
I’d like to think that MS will have a new version of ADDUSERS that will create the account with the new ADfields in it.
Thanx,
