Resolution issue with XF86Config-4

By Frenchwood ·
I have an issue where the Display Driver settings in XF86config-4 are preventing the GUI form being visible, i know how to correct this, however i cannot get to a terminal from GUI login. Anyone know a keystroke for this? or a way to interrupt LILO to do it?

you did set up a failsafe boot entry in lilo?
that would drop you to console, runlevel 1 to be exact.

if not, touch any key at lilo prompt and then enter init 1 or init 3
runlevel 1 is single user, minimal system, runlevel 3 is multi user, command prompt with network.

I doubt that by switching through the [alt][Fx}
( alt key + f1 through 5 keys )
will give you a console login prompt, but it may work.

Cheers Jaqui i managed to prevent the xserver starting so i can correct it now, moral of the story: Don't change XF86Config-4 when compiling a new linux kernel unless you REALLY have to!!!!
