I have installed Client Access Express on our Windows 2000 Server, in order to run a remote command feature from an AS/400 system. Recently we experienced that the remote command service failed. My first step to get the command to run was to stop and start the remote command service on the Server. However we received an errror:
Could not stop the Client Access Remote Command Service on local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
The respond option is to press OK. When I check the status on the services it shows that it’s STOPPING, and the properties to start, stop, restart… are grayed out.
The only way to get the Service to come up agin is to reboot the server. Is there any other way to revive the service without having to reboot all the time?
Windows 2000 Server acting as a PDC with service pack 1 installed. I’ve checked other services to see if they could be restarted and they do.
Any info onthis matter is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
