restore from older system restore points?

by skid53251 . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

Have quite a problem, having to do with Vundo, geedb virus, etc. Have tried hijack, AVG, avast,
Vundofix, etc.- but the^%$%^ thing keeps coming back-
As soon as I try to log on in Safe mode- machine reboots. In Windows, it takes away exporer.exe. Very Stuck!

What I am curious about here however, is system restore;

It is only showing me 2 most recent restore points, and will not go back any further.
(Dont know why)
I know all the .reg entries from previous restore points are still there (In windows dir, I think?)
My Question is:
IS there any way to ‘force’ a system restore from those?

(Why is this dang trojan so nasty? the vundo fixers claim to have worked, but then it just comes right back!
Ive never seen hijack fail- but its not helping this time!)

Thanks for ANY ideas, etc.

Machine: HP -winXP- 1 gig RAM, locally networked
