-it has been known, but I doubt if the Google toolbar removal and the Restore problem are linked.
If your friend cannot restore back to an earlier time, most likely Windows Resore has not been turned on, or has been turned off at some earlier time.
The first thing your friend should do is to create a restore point immediately in order to have something to fall back on from now.
You didn’t mention WHY your friend needed to use the restore function – perhaps there is another way to help you both?
Post back with her need for using restore.

If you have a virus

You need to get rid of the virus before you try system restore
The virus will just reinfect your computer
It may also make the computer unusable
Be aware that the virus can be included in the system restore points
Just a warning for you

Yes but some viruses still seem to find their way into the restore files

I do not rely on system restore
Backing up your system from time to time
To one or more of these1 removable media
2 a removable storage device
3 another computer on your network
4 a network storage deviceIs the only safe way to go
System restore is mostly uselessRecovery takes too long if you have to repair or reinstall
I am still amazed by the large number of people who do no backups
Then expect someone to come to his or her aid
?Hang on I will just wave my magic wand and the system restore genie has put it back just the way it was?
?That will be $1000 dollars thanks?
?$50 for my time?
?$950 for the power needed to turn back time?
(I could be so lucky time travel costs a lot more than that)Some smart pr**k would call me a fairy anyway

Hello Dave, the problem my friend has is that since she got rid of the Google Toolbar, she can not access her Aol account, to get on the internet it wants her to rejoin and will not accept her user name or password, so has her restore function been turned off and if so how does she turn it back on, to see if that might help her, she does not want to open a new account

In reply to If you have a virus
Hello thank you for your help I will tell my friend to run her anti-virus to see if her computer is infected and always to have it enabled at all times if she does find a virus ,so that it does not happen again.
