Restoreing *.Edb files to Exchange 5.5

I'm afraid it's not quite as simple as it may appear, Matthew. It depends largely on how you have been backing the server up. There are two main methods for this, online, and offline backups. Hopefully you have been doing online backups, as they arepreferable, and take a lot of the guesswork out of doing a restore. Before you do ANYTHING, you really should read this:

http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/techinfo/BackupRestore.htm

(download the file, and sit down and read it) It will save you a whole world of hurt if this is done first..

Regards

The link in answer 1 is valid. Please remove the space before .htm
It is a well laid out document and walks you through disaster recovery.
It does matter the type of backup, and also hopefully you have circular logging disabled, so you can recover up to the minute of disaster.
Recovery is not hard to do, when you now the steps, which the doc provides.
