Restoring Active Directory

By gregori65 ·
Please, I need some help to make the following point clear.
Microsoft says that in order to restore Active Directory, we must place the server into Directory Service Mode (safe mode). But if I use a networked media server to perform the restore, I won`t be able to see the domain controller if it is on safe mode. So, what to do at this point.....
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Try to restore the latest good system state from backup on to local disk of the server that you supposed to work on. Than try to restore the AD.

Good Luck ..

if you know where the backed up data is on the media server, back it up to a media. Restart the system in Directory service mode. Restore the data using the ntbackup from the media.
