Restoring MFC42.DLL

By lmcdonald ·
I need to restore my MFC42.DLL file. I ran spykiller on my computer and now my Norton doesn't work along with a couple other programs. I couldn't even run a PC Housecall scan. I know I need to restore the MFC42.dll file. I found it using System File Checker, but now what do I do to restore it????
Thanks for the help...

You use SFC to extract a single file. Enter the name of the file and click start. SFC will display the correct destination for the file and prompt you for a source, hopefully your win98 CDROM. If you don't have a CDROM for some reason, the manufacturer may have placed a copy in C:\windows\options\cabs.
