Hi
I have a flat network(VLAN’s not implemented) of 400 nodes with 3 subnets, I have setup a WIN2K DHCP server with client reservation for all PC’s i.e each PC’s NIC MAC-ID is associated with a fixed IP address. The network is fine and the DHCP server also works fine with the superscope option in place
I need to restrict a PC with only that IP address on the network i.e in the event if any user types in a IP address of another PC which is currently offline, that PC with a forged IP should not be given access in the network,
In summary what I want to achieve is that when a IP packet comes out it should be from that matching MAC-ID of that NIC alone which I have set in the DHCP server, i.e even if a user types in a IP address in his/her network settings it should not be allowed to access the network
I understand that I have no group policy or no central login process is taking place, I am just abt restructuring the Network and I cannot set group policy as of now
Is there any other way to solve my problem, all help is appreciated
Warm Regards
