Restrict Local Drive Group Policy?

By klarkin ·
Hello,

I am trying to lock down users desktops by restricting drive c: with "Restrict Local Drives" via the group policy it works great, except for the fact I get a "You are restricted" error every time I log on. I am not sure what is being restricted? Everything seems to be working fine. This happens with a fresh 2000 install with no addition apps and nothing in the startup folders. Does anyone no of a way I can find out why that "Restricted" box comes up at each logon? And what itis restricting?

Try using GPOTool.exe and GRResult.exe for troubleshooting Group Policies. Both are available with the resource kit.

Not the answer, but I have a similar problem. I have also tried to limit access to several functions and also limit myself as administrator, through mmc-group policy. I have posted a question about setting up user profiles and creating logon scriptswhere you can limit only the users access but have not found out how yet! later jeepsrock9
