I am having trouble getting my wife's laptop to print on wireless printer hooked to network router. It will print if I leave my desktop on. I am trying to get it to print when the desktop is off. Both computers are running XP one XP pro, the other Home edition. I don't think I should have to have a print server or anything like that. The printer is HP Officejet 7410 multifunction.
Thanks,

Perhaps you have the network settings on the laptop configured wrong. If it is set to use the desktop as a gateway, it won't ever see the printer. Double check your settings and report back to us what you find.

Also (afterthought), have you used the HP Install Network Printer Wizard on the laptop to do the setup for it? That program usually solves all network printer problems for HP's.

Problem solved

Removed software from both computers. Re-installed. Was careful on all my selections and it is now working. Thanks,
