Retrieving Corrupt Outlook 2000 contacts

By dabuck ·
On standalone Win98SE machine, with Outlook 2000 installed, I have a second drive with a corrupt version of Outlook 2000 (autoclosing on opening files as per previous post). Although I have been able to retrieve the messages, I have several contacts that I need to retrieve.
As no longer installed, a fresh installation of win98 with Office2000, this second installation with the data is not referred to in the registry.
Any ideas?

Retrieving Corrupt Outlook 2000 contacts

outlook contacts is also saved either in a *.pab file, find the *.pst and *.pab file from your "corrupt" version, renamed the files so that you won't overwrite the "healthy" one. From outlook 2000, try and open the mailbox, you might be able to retrieve emails, and try and add the *.pab into your outlook profile, you might also be able to retrieve.

Sorry - know that one - no PAB files are locateable - I have to find the hidden files which contain the address book and somehow retrieve that. Thank you, however. Getting responses allows me to finetune the question.....
