Hello, my old Compaq Desktop PC will not boot up and I want to retrieve data from the hard drive. So I removed the PC HDD and plugged it into the jumper, and then I opened up the M2000 laptop, but it does not have a 40-pin IDE connector. The laptop connectors look like interlocking fingers with ridges, instead of pins. Is there another hard drive jumper I could use with this laptop?
Also how do I set the laptop as master?
