If your skills are back in 1998, a whole lot has changed since then.
If your skills are not up to date, take some classes at a community college, get some certifications (A+, Security Plus, Network Plus, MCSE, Database, etc). The preparation for a certification will help to bring your skill levels up to date.
Find some non-profits or local church where you can volunteer your time doing computer work.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
