Returning to back to work

By moon1316 ·
I do not know if you have the answer to my question but I will go ahead and post it
I graduated in 1998 with a degree in computer science - information system, and computer science - programming , worked for a year and half as information systems engineer
I have not been working for 12 years and the IT field is growing very fast
I really need to go back to work but I do not know what to do or where to start
Do you guys have any suggestion I truly need your help if you can or if anybody has any ideas.

Volunteer, training, certification

by robo_dev In reply to Returning to back to work

If your skills are back in 1998, a whole lot has changed since then.

If your skills are not up to date, take some classes at a community college, get some certifications (A+, Security Plus, Network Plus, MCSE, Database, etc). The preparation for a certification will help to bring your skill levels up to date.

Find some non-profits or local church where you can volunteer your time doing computer work.
