Reuse a single backup tape for NTBACKUP

I’m in a test environment & need to use MS native backup (EWWWGGGGG) on a win2000 server (member of NT domain, no AD yet)

I have gone through EVERYTHING I can think of using MMC removeable media to prepare the tape for reuse. Backup fails becausethere is no unused media. The media state is idle available, the tape is in the free pool.

EXACTLY what do I need to do to this (expletives welcome) to make it back up???
