Wrap the hard drive in a plastic bag and put it in a freezer for about8 to 12 hours, take it out and connect it

Hi

Can you say what the symtons are? If you can give specific details of any error messages (or lack of them!), we can tailor our responses to your needs.

Try these:
As in Answer 1, put in the freezer (in a bag), but 1 to 2 hours is all you need. It condenses a bit, when you put it back in the PC, but don't worry about it. Boot up immediately.
If above don't work? Tap lightly with a hammer.
Try it now. IF no good, give it a few more harder knocks!
Worst comes to worst, it may make sense just to load the HD as a slave in another PC. Boot up, assuming you have the jumper(s) correct...and you should see it when you d/click My Computer eg. it could be drive E. Take the info off it, that you need and discard this HD. If all you see on this drive (presuming you do see it) is Garbage, then you are in trouble! Good Luck. Hope this helps; I use this all the time.
