I am trying to get Outlook 2000 to follow my users to what ever computer they decide to logon to. As you may know the directory that Outlook stores some of the files in, is in the “Local Settings” directory (in the user profile directory) The “LocalSettings” directory does not get updated to the server. There is a registry hack to include this directory in the update to the server, but this only helps some of the problems. The email gets stored on the server, but does not follow the user to another computer. I wouldnt mind storing the email directly on the server (not in the profile) without using Exchange but this may induce a lot of network traffic. I only have 13 clients though but want to use good practice anyways. I have tried some tests and tried to just move the Outlook files to the server, and this works fine, but I lose the custom directories on the left that I setup, and I still can’t roam with it. I get an error if I try to go to another computer. Can some one tell me all of the files to put on the server or in the profile, where they are located, and how to tell Outlook where to look for ALL the files. Thanks a million in advance.
