well you create the roaming profile on windows 2000 server and associate that profile to a user. Now if your running Active Directory on you Windows 2000 server, in AD users and computers, users, <specific user>,right click, select properties, go to the profile tab and specify the profile you created.

now if you want to use your Windows 9x local profile for a non-mandatory roaming profile stored on you W2K server, then you open up the system properties from the control panel, choose user profiles, find the local profile you wish to use as a non-mandatory profile choose change type and change it to roaming profile. after that is completed then choose copty to and copy that profile to a folder on the W2K Server. You then specify that profile to use when the user logs on.

I have Windows 98 Second Edition on most of the workstations, and 2000 Server.

Windows 98 Second Edition does not have a User Profile TAB!

Firstly how do I create that roaming profile?
How do I get it to roam?

Found information to create profile for Windows 98, but cant find anything for Windows 98 Second Edition.

I don't think you can use roaming profiles with Win98.

In my professional opinion: If you are at the point of wanting you use roaming profiles, then maybe it is time to look into possibly upgrading your workstations to Windows 2000 or XP.

You can use roaming profiles in Windows 98; follow the steps by D.R.
