Rollback from XP Home to Win98

Hello!

I am trying to asisst a business user who has WinXP Home on one of his computers. What is the least destructive or invasive way to roll the system back to Win 98? XP doesn’t have drivers for his peripherals – each a few years old – the the periphreal manufacturer has no plans to support XP.

He also has some 16 bit apps that run well on his Win 98 machine, but crash in XP.

I don’t know if this machine came with XP or was upgraded. I suspect the former, He has a full version of Win 98 to use.
