Rolling out Discoverer 10G report to 1500 users

By linesh ·
Hi,

I have a requirement to roll out discoverer 10G reports to 1500+ online users (concurrent users). But I am bit sceptical about the infrastructure required for this roll out. Current infrastructure is RAC, active-active node with 2 CPUs and 4 GB memory each. Currently we have limited the concurrent usage to 150 users only.
Can I roll out discoverer reports to 1500 concurrent users?
If so, will there be any performance impacts?

Thanks

1500 concurrent users on one server cluster?

Your question is whether there will be performance impacts when going from 150 users to 1500 concurrent users?

I would answer yes.

There is a huge 'it depends' which is how simple/complex is the report.

Their sizing calculator would indicate you need nearly 30,000 MHZ of processing power and 15GB of ram for for 1500 'simple viewer users' and over 42,000 MHZ and 30GB of RAM for 1500 Complex Viewer users.

I am in the process of uplifting the infrastructre for meeting the requirement. Can I use the sizing calculator for AIX servers ?
